the Parc des Oiseaux has been one of the most popular bird parks in Europe and the largest such park in France.
Its richness is based not only on the large numbers of birds, but also and above all on the diversity of bird species found in the park. Yet this diversity would be of no interest at all if the birds' natural behavior could not be observed. It would be senseless to put the birds on display like in a museum…
So at the Park we strive to create enclosures and aviaries that replicate life zones where plant and animal life, as well as soil and other elements, are all in balance. Before associating different species, we look at their original natural environments, need for space and capacity to coexist. So our birds exhibit behaviors comparable to those observed in nature.
The choice of species is based on our commitment to providing a proper environment for the birds in our park. It is also based on our desire to present the extraordinary range of colors, behaviors and physiognomies of birds found throughout the world.
The third—and for us the most essential criteria—is to contribute to the protection of endangered species. |
